Non Fungible Library

The inspiration behind the Non Fungible Library comes from Borges’ short story The Library of Babel from 1941. It describes the idea of a library containing every possible character combination, thus containing everything that has ever been said or written and everything that ever could be written or said.

The Non Fungible Library highlights the equivalence between all information and no information as every true theory, story or biography in the library would be submerged by the immense amount of nonsense also written in it. Inspired by The Library of Babel, Non-Fungible Library aims to highlight this absurdity on a smaller scale.

The Non Fungible Library is an immense thought experiment utilizing 29 variables representing all the letters in the English Alphabet as well as commas, spaces and periods. Each page in the Non Fungible Library consists of 1.617 characters. Each page has 1.617^29 possible combinations, which means that the Non Fungible Library in total has 4.847.766^29 possible combinations, made up of 2.998 pages and 2 book covers.

The Non Fungible Library’s own algorithm has been designed to highlight words that contain at least 4 letters and above. This approach makes the number of words on each page easier to comprehend and function with the AI of Non Fungible Story.

Justus designed an innovative global puzzle that became a key component of the marketing strategy for the Non Fungible Library. This creative approach played a crucial role in catapulting the project to viral status within the NFT community in 2022.
