Pink Border

In our Pink Border project, Justus embarks on a provocative exploration of the concept of "meaningless art in a meaningless humanitarian situation".

Pink Border is a statement of the absurdity often found in the enormity of human conflicts, particularly the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Through this project, we aim to highlight the often overlooked human costs of these disputes. Our art installation, featuring a pink toilet split by the physical border between Israel and the West Bank, serves as a powerful symbol of daily life disrupted by seemingly insurmountable barriers.

This installation not only questions the functionality of division but also underscores the ironic inhumanity of the barriers we construct. By rendering a mundane object like a toilet useless, split across a contentious border, we emphasize the ridiculousness and tragedy of the division.
